The Village Palms

Christchurch

This 101 unit care facility is the largest steel frame building in the southern hemisphere. It is framed with light gauge steel, clad in 12mm ply and the shear walls directly support the metal flooring system and concrete mid floors. This innovative combination of construction elements was a first for New Zealand and meant less framing steel was required – translating to significant cost savings for the client.
